Over the past 8 months, I have started to grow an obsession over denim. Someone who once did not give a shit about the kind of jeans that he was wearing is now going out and purchasing premium denim.
Its really a long chain of events that happened to get me to end up buying multiple pairs of premium denim… lets just say that i was somehow pissed off at pre-distressed jeans as consumers are buying jeans that all the rips on them from the factory… which takes away from the classic durability of work wear clothing. So after a few minor random events and some research on the internet, here i am, writing this post. Since this denim obsession is going to stay with me for a while, i’ll finished writing here and continue later on.

Recently i bought my first casting reel, an Avet SX 5.3, and its a very good reel, once I learned how to use it. The free spool literally defies the laws of physics and has a nice amount of drag for such a small reel. I do plan on purchasing more casting reels, as i want to start using them for actual surfcasting. Before this can happen though i need to learn how to effectively cast in the dark, which i tried a couple of times previously with no luck (two backlashes using a swimming plug).
Tip of advice: if you want to learn a casting reel, get a left handed model if you are switching/ learned from a right handed spinning reel. Left handed casting reel is defined as a left hand retrieve… which is the same retrieve hand as a right hand spinning reel. Apparently I leaned the hard way, which i really didn’t care about as i basically switch hands mid-cast (cast with right hand, switch rod to left hand, hold with left, retrieve with right).
Also, as learned from experience, if you decide to use a braided line, get a line that is larger than 12lb mono equivalent; As you can fill up more of the spool with less line (i didnt need ~600 yds of 30# braid). This will allow for a cast with a reduced chance of backlash and it is easier on your thumb if you dont have a levelwind reel.

mike still has yet to get his truck fixed so we can go fishing on the 4×4 access areas. Almost everyday i’ve been fishing at the bluff; I’m not even aiming to catch fish. I’m just fishing there because its relaxing and a nice time killer.
The photo above was the sunset at the bluff (hence the title) a couple of days ago. It is unedited and was taken by the camera on my samsung blackjack.
I am going to start bringing my actual camera with me everywhere i go, like i previously did.

follow me on twitter: doctahbryan
easier, more convenient, and doesn’t flood the mysql database. I will continue blogging thouh, hopefully i can continue photoblogging… I have just been real busy this past several months. Mainly I have been fishing, working, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and school (which ended almost 2 months ago). All of the above was in its own circle of repetition. Once things get sorted out in the next couple of weeks i will start using flickr again.. which had its own break for a couple of months and start photographing the god damn world like i always have. It just came to my mind that i am in need of going to the city… haven’t been there in months.
well, like always, i’ll end this post with a generic, no frills, conclusion (like this one) as i always do. See ya later, motherfucker.

This project was probably started at the worst possible time of the year.. a couple of weeks before the semester started. They are installing gas lines for home heating; starting from the new highway - harned road intersection, going south towards motor parkway. It doesn’t stop there… my friend that lives on harned road says that the plan on installing gas lines all the way down motor parkway, ending near suffolk community college. Any locals of south commack knows that this project is a big pain in the ass.
The pic above shows some kind of perpetual machine of something. I don’t know, as i just pass it everyday and i don’t scrutinize the machine.

not the whole road in general.. my friend is finally starting to decide to sell his beloved 1989 crown victoria after another driver crashed into something with it. This car has over a couple of hundred miles and still runs perfectly. As i write this he is still working on the car to get it back into good looking shape. It will be missed as this is his first car and hes had it for about 5 years.
There maybe soon a couple of new cars joining dewey road though. My friend is probably going to get another car and i have my eyes on this restorable 1969 coupe deville. emailed the seller last night, hopefully the seller responds and its still available because i’ll buy it in a heartbeat.

fishing trip did not go well last night, my friends and i started off going to the captree pier to catch some shad for bait, ended up with about 15 fresh shad. then we were planning to go fishing at democrat point. it ended up that democrat point was closed due to severe erosion from the last tropical storm, so we ended up going to our usual place; which was eroded as well.
anyway, 4 hours went by, with no bites… not even a crab. so we decided to hit the road.

Halloween is coming up, which means there will be a lot of teenagers there, looking for some scary shit. That’s why my friends and I head over to Mt. Misery… not to look for anything, but to scare the shit out of whoever walk through the park. So be warned, if your reading this right now, and have plans to go around halloween time, take your chance.

got out of class at about 11 in the morning, went home and slept until about 6:00, then i noticed the clouds were spectacular, so first place in my mind was the kings park bluff… shot a few hdr pictures there that turned out pretty decent. check them out on my flickr photostream.
